Women\'s Health and Education Center (WHEC) had launched in 2002, in collaboration with the United Nations this e-learning initiative for educational purposes (http://www.WomensHealthSection.com) to improve health and lives of the families worldwide. We serve about 13 million subscribers in 225 countries every year. Imagine students in developing countries and the United States simultaneously reviewing the same medical curriculum and learning from each other. e-Health systems can improve access to information, thus increasing awareness of what is known in the health sciences. our Global Health Line is of mutual benefit and fosters mutual respect. Continuing Medical Education is a lifetime commitment requiring knowledge of current trends and developments in the science, technology and economics of health care, and thereby improving the quality of healthcare, communities and families.
In 2014 we have plans to launch WomensHealthSection.com - 2.0. This interactive segment at this point will only be available to Governments and Institutions. Over the years, the United Nations, governments, civil society and individuals have put forth countless plans of action for reducing maternal mortality and morbidity. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), at least 1,600 women will die today from a complication of pregnancy and childbirth, most of them in developing countries. No technical or political apporach - no matter how well intentioned - has ever conquered this enormous problem. What is needed is broader dissemination of medical knowledge. And Internet-Classrooms and initiatives such as this can help that goal.
Our work has been published in UN Chronicle and Bulletin of the World Health Organization, many times. The article title: Improving Maternal Health Through Education: Safe Motherhood is a Necessity, was published as the lead article for Millennium Development Goal # 5 (Improve Maternal Health) in UN Chronicle No. 4, 2007.
We focus on Adolescent Healthcare too, and the concepts we are working on worldwide are: respect for others, especially the opposite sex; self-esteem; the possibility of family planning and understanding that children are ideally born of a conscious decision by loving and responsible parents; the importance of postponing the first pregnancy; and the ability to withstand peer pressure.
We also focus on mental health aspects of healthy families and healty communities. As witnessed by the extent of mental health problems shared by children and adults alike, the \"how to\" of life is often a rather weak component of human competence. Our initiatives work with health-promoting schools.
Investing in wireless Internet technology is the way forward to tackle maternal mortality and morbidiy and improve lives of families and communities.
Please join our efforts.
We welcome everyone
