Dear Mr..NObel.....> I am a PhD student at the Comparative andProgram at Teachers College, Columbia University. I am writing in regards to the nomination of Dr. Ana Mon to the Peace Nobel Prize. As a Nobel Prize yourself, you can help a unique project
that provides care, shelter and training to 50,000 kids and teenagers
that would otherwise be in the streets. Thanks to an impof professionals, thousands of kids and teenagers in 130 countries in
the Americas, Africa an Asia attend daily these development centers
where they receive food, shelter and recreation. Soon, centers will be
expanding to cover the five continents. Dr. Ana Mon is an Argentine citizen who founded the Argentine
Federation of Family Support 25 years ago. Dr. Mon started with one
center, in La Plata, Province of Aires, Argentina. Nowadays,
Argentina has 170 legally and financially autonomous development
centers, and Dr. Mon has also Buenos founded the International
Confederation of Family Support, that represents autonomous centers in
many countries. The International
Confederation(ciaf) has consultative status at the ECOSOC at the United
Nations.
In my dissertation, in which I am studying the geographic scaling-up of
Non
Governmental Organizations in
Argentina, I have also included data about the International
Confederation of Family Support, since it is one of the biggest in
terms of coverage, but still, the recurrent costs of the headquarters
are of
less than $5,000 on a yearly basis. This is due to the fact that
affiliates are autonomous
and decentralized, and this allows for the vast
majority of resources to be allocated to the direct costs of the >>
affiliates.
Since 1999, Dr. Ana Mon has been nominated seven times to the Peace
Nobel prize. I am attaching a presentation of the International
Confederation of Family Support in English and Dr. Ana Mon?s resume.>> It
would be of great value for the project that respected Nobel prizes
like you could nominate Dr. Ana Mon to the Peace
Nobel Prize, helping the project to reach thousands of families around>>> the world.
Respectfully,

CIAF Review.
CIAf is an Institution that was born 30 years ago, and it has now day care centres in the three poorest continents. In the world of NGO’s has an innovative presence and has, since it began, an uncommon way of working, BEING AND WORKING DESCENTRALIZED, TRAINING NEW LEADERS, SUSTAINING BEING PRIVATE, APOLITICAL AND ECCUMENICALLY AND WORKING HARD IN A SOCIAL EDUCATIONAL WAY, AND TO ERRADICATE POVERTY AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE AND WITH ONLY ONE OBJECTIVE, GIVE A HAND TO THOSE ONES THAT WERE BORN WITHOUT ANY CHANCE OF A DIGNIFYING LIFE AND THE PROMOTION OF THE FAMILIY ACCORDING TO EACH OWN CULTURE, CUSTOMS, ETHNIAS....
As a first approach to the idea of Family Support we may say that it’s devoted to prevention.
To prevent is to be able to see phenomenon before they are symptoms and irreversible crisis.
Dr. Ana Mon perceived 30 years ago that in Argentina, due to the social exclusion phenomena, it was indispensable to “repair” some things before the family dissolution took place, because of extreme poverty.
She has a lovely and numerous family (five male children). In 1983 she was driving her car with the five of them seating in the back of the car, when she saw two other children poking in garbage and looking for food. This was a shocking situation that made her be conscious of the need of a structural change in our society.
There we have a special note about her way of thinking: in an intuitive and creative way she perceived that the sum of good solidary actions are not equal to the structural changes that position the Subjects and the communities in different places of action and interpretation.
Because of it, her whole acting is inserted in a holistic and philosophical frame. That is to say, she supported together with her team of co-founding friends and with the accompaniment of her family, a solidary idea that went beyond the mere asistencialism (typical of this times) and a look that pointed at the human promotion of children and their families, letting them be a part of the community.
To promote means to stimulate without dominating
To motivate, without uniform.
To offer opportunities, without generating dependence.
To educate making feel that it is possible: to be, to believe and to be able to achieve things.
The philosophical and holistic frame was related to a perception of the global condition of the world, specially of the Latin-American reality and particularly of the situation Argentina needed, to be interpreted seriously of a comprehension that the quite social structural one should catch and to each of its parts as joints of sense.
It is to affirm that: everything is not equal to the sum of the parts (sum of solidary actions or of Child Houses and the family, in this case) but it is the peculiar studding for long-term which, it will be possible to give them a change that not only meets reflected in the actions of the Third Sector or Social Sector, but in policies of State.
